Learning Community is a research institute working in the field of instruction, training and educational experimentation. It has been founded by a group of experts with a consolidated experience in Lifelong Learning, coming from University, school and enterprise. It has become a reference point for planning and development of actions and initiative in the integrated system of Lifelong Learning.

Learning Community carries out scientific researches, studies, experimental actions for the innovation in educational contexts. Its objective is to promote a culture of continuous improvement in the philosophy of collaborative learning, the collective construction of new meanings, the sharing of representative biography of the community members, the development of key competences in formal, informal and non formal contexts.

Learning Community is also a Publishing House, aiming to disseminate the results of researches carried out at local, national and European level; the publishing focus is on educational themes.

Activities

Learning Community has planned and developed several education and research actions at national, European and transnational level, many of them realized in European Initiative and Programs, like the following:

• Lifelong Learning Programme:  Leonardo da Vinci projects Free-Learning, Di.scol.a., Deeper; Equal COMUNET; Grundtvig Projects LeadLab and ShowMi

• Local Action: project DidaSco to prevent school dropout and wastage phenomena in the district VT/2 of Viterbo and the school network in Pomezia (Rome)
  

• POR Abruzzo Ob. 3 2000-2006 ESF Misura C1: Research Project IFRU “Rapporto sul sistema di Istruzione – Formazione – Ricerca – Università nella Regione Abruzzo” (Analysis of the regional System of Instruction, Education, University and Research in Abruzzo)

• POR Lazio, Ob. 3, 2000-2006 Misura C2: Project GRIISE to prevent school dropout and wastage phenomena in vocational training

• Department of Public Function, Directorate for Training: definition of a Monitoring System for the, connected to the use of SFE for the 2007-2013

• POLO IFTS for Cultural Heritage for Regione Lazio.
